Scott Kibby,

Principal, Liberty High School

Scott Kibby has been an educator for 30 years.  Mr. Kibby received a bachelor’s degree in math from the University of Northern Iowa and a master’s degree in educational leadership at the University of Iowa.   He started his 16 year academic career as a math teacher before he became an associate principal for activities at Cedar Rapids Jefferson.

Mr. Kibby started his tenure in the Iowa City Community School district in 2012 in his role as Athletic Director for West High School.  Mr. Kibby was named the inaugural Principal of Liberty High School in the spring of 2016.  Scott and his wife Kari have a son Nathan and twin daughters Megan and Erin.


Mike Morrison,

Athletic Director, Liberty High School

Mike Morrison has been a teacher, coach, and administrator at West Delaware for the past 28 years.  He now is embarking on a new journey, building programs from the ground up as the Athletic Director at the new Iowa City Liberty High School.
He graduated from Central Lee High School in Donnellson and went on to earn a BA in mathematics from William Penn in 1989 and a Masters in educational administration from UNI in 1993.
At West Delaware he taught everything from pre-algebra to calculus.  He was also head baseball coach and an assistant football coach.  He stopped coaching in 2013 to become the schools AD and assistant principal.
He lives with his wife Tracy in North Liberty.  His two children, Tyler and Haley, live in Iowa City and attend the University of Iowa.

Anna Manternach,

Athletic Trainer, Liberty High School

Anna Manternach, ATC has worked with high school athletes for 13 years. Originally from Minnesota, she worked with athletes in Kansas (RCJH!), Arizona (Bear Down!) before returning to the Midwest four
years ago. Anna, her husband, Jeremy and their 2-year old daughter, Nora, live in Iowa City where they cheer for a variety of sports teams, spoil a Chihuahua, and watch Daniel Tiger. She’s excited to be part
of the Liberty athletic community and looks forward to a healthy, inaugural year!
